SUNRISE-6G Wraps Up a Successful Presence at IEEE ICC 2026 in Glasgow!

The SUNRISE-6G project proudly concluded an exciting and highly successful participation at the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2026, held from 24–28 May 2026 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Throughout the event, the SUNRISE-6G booth attracted more than 500 visitors from both industry and academia, highlighting the growing interest in advanced 6G experimentation and innovation.

At STAND 6, HALL 2, attendees had the opportunity to explore the SUNRISE-6G experimentation facility, interact with live demonstrations, and engage in insightful discussions with project partners and experts.

The overwhelming feedback received during the event confirmed the strong impact and relevance of the SUNRISE-6G facility. Visitors described the platform as “An excellent and very important tool for future 6G research and experimentation.”

The event also sparked highly engaging discussions and questions from the community, including:

  • Can researchers run their own experiments on a specific testbed?
  • Is it possible to discuss functional test modifications directly with the testbed owner?
  • Is the testbed freely accessible worldwide?
  • Can experiments from different testbeds be combined and used together?

These discussions reinforced the importance of open, collaborative, and flexible experimentation infrastructures for the future of 6G research.

SUNRISE-6G would like to thank everyone who visited our booth, attended our sessions, and shared their ideas and feedback during ICC 2026. The enthusiasm and interest shown by the global research and industry community continue to motivate us as we advance the future of 6G experimentation.

Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming activities from the SUNRISE-6G project.
