SUNRISE-6G Represented at the 10th B5G-PINE Workshop during AIAI 2025!
The SUNRISE-6G project was thematically represented at the 10th Workshop on “B5G – Putting Intelligence to the Network Edge” (B5G-PINE 2025), which took place as part of the 21st International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovations (AIAI 2025), held in a hybrid format at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus, from 26 to 29 June 2025.
During Session 4 – AIAI: B5G-PINE 1, one of the SUNRISE-6G consortium partners presented a peer-reviewed paper titled:
📄 “Societal Aspects and Key Values in 6G Networks”.
The paper delved into societal expectations, sustainability, ethics, inclusiveness, and other core values that must underpin the evolution of 6G networks. These aspects are tightly interwoven with the SUNRISE-6G project’s mission to support human-centric innovation through open, ethical, and scalable experimentation across Europe.
Thematically, the workshop and the presented work align with the SUNRISE-6G approach, which is inspired by the “Network of Networks” concept for 6G. SUNRISE-6G aims to build a pan-European federation of 6G infrastructures enabling:
Cross-domain vertical onboarding and Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS);
Federated AI integration and Intent-Driven Lifecycle Management (IDLM);
Innovations in joint communications and sensing, RAN exposure, Digital Twinning, and non-terrestrial 6G access.
Participation in this international workshop contributed to increasing the project’s visibility in AI and 6G research communities, while reinforcing SUNRISE-6G’s unique role in bridging technical excellence with societal relevance in the upcoming 6G era.
