SUNRISE-6G Featured in Industry Panel and Presented Cutting-Edge Research at IEEE ICC 2025!

We proudly participated in the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC 2025), held from 8–12 June 2025 in Montreal, Canada, one of the world’s leading events for global communications research and innovation.

Industry Panel Contribution

SUNRISE-6G was featured in the high-level Industry Panel titled: “Data Platforms for Advanced AI-Native Networks: Fostering International Collaboration,” alongside fellow SNS JU projects 6G-DALI and 6G-BRICKS.

The panel brought together thought leaders from across the telecom ecosystem, including Christos Verikoukis and Adlen Ksentini, to discuss how AI-native networks can be supported through collaborative data platforms, federated testbeds, and global cooperation.

Key themes from the panel included:

  • The low percentage of network data currently utilized for insights

  • Fragmentation in data standards and privacy regulations

  • The potential of AI and Foundation Models (FMs) in understanding network behaviour

  • The need for public-private collaboration and EU leadership through the SNS JU

Scientific Contributions

In addition to the panel, SUNRISE-6G partners presented 2 peer-reviewed research papers, advancing the project’s thought leadership in 6G innovation:

  1. Lenovo presented: “A Vision for Multiaccess HTTP in 6G Networks”
This paper outlines a transformative approach to enhance reliability and performance in future multi-access environments, proposing HTTP-based frameworks tailored for 6G architecture.

  2. EURECOM presented: “DRL-enabled SLO-aware Task Scheduling for Large Language Models in 6G Networks”
This work introduces deep reinforcement learning methods to manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) in LLM-based workloads, addressing the unique scheduling and resource challenges in AI-driven networks.

These contributions demonstrate the SUNRISE-6G consortium’s dedication to combining academic research with real-world impact, supporting the EU’s vision for leadership in 6G.
