SUNRISE-6G Ecosystem Integration Handbook Released!
The SUNRISE-6G project is pleased to announce the release of the “Handbook of Testbed Integration with the SUNRISE-6G Ecosystem”, accompanied by a dedicated video walkthrough.
This handbook formalises the complete methodology for integrating external testbeds into the SUNRISE-6G experimentation platform, establishing a unified orchestration and data management framework for next-generation 6G experimentation infrastructures.
The SUNRISE-6G ecosystem is designed as a layered architecture composed of:
- The Experimentation Portal, serving as the user-facing control interface
- The Adaptation Framework, acting as the central orchestration and middleware layer
- Federated Testbeds, responsible for executing experiments and generating telemetry
- A unified data storage and repository system for KPI persistence and reuse.
This structure enables full lifecycle management of experiments, from configuration and execution to monitoring, analysis, and data export.
The handbook provides a complete technical specification for:
- Architecture & System Design
- Onboarding Workflow
- Standardised REST API Integration (Mandatory endpoints)
- Real-Time Data Flow
- Security & Access Control
And a complete experiment workflow:
- Experiment creation via the Portal,
- Orchestration through the Adaptation Framework,
- Testbed execution and real-time telemetry generation,
- KPI streaming and database storage,
- Live monitoring and visualisation in the Portal,
- Optional experiment updates or termination,
- Data export to long-term repositories.
By defining a unified integration standard, SUNRISE-6G enables:
