We’re excited to share highlights from the recent SUNRISE-6G participation at the NCSR Demokritos (NCSRD) Summer School 2024, held for the 59th year, from July 8 to 12, 2024, in Athens, Greece.

The event focused on Information Technology and telecommunications, Nanotechnology and Modern Materials, Energy, and Environment Safety, providing a dynamic platform for researchers and postgraduate students to exchange insights, forge new partnerships, and explore cutting-edge innovations.

The Front Research Group of NCSRD actively engaged researchers and postgraduate students in discussions about SUNRISE-6G objectives and 6G experimentation during the event’s poster session.

Dr Harilaos Koumaras, head of FRONT Research Group and Leader of Athens 6G testbed, stated:

“Today, we had the opportunity to share SUNRISE-6G vision for 6G experimentation with young researchers and postgraduate students who need access to 6G experimentation testbeds for performing their research. SUNRISE-6G, as the first pan-European federated B5G/6G experimentation facility, can cover this need, offering applied testing and experimentation”.

SUNRISE-6G’s booth also included INFOLYSIS, the project’s SME partner. INFOLYSIS communicated to the participants the importance of B5G/6G experimentation for building innovative services and products and how SUNRISE-6G helps towards this through the federated open experimentation 6G testbed.

Both teams engaged participants with in-depth discussions highlighting the project’s transformative potential. The vibrant rollup banner showcased technological advancements and our commitment to advancing the fields of communication, materials science, and environmental sustainability. The SUNRISE-6G communication was also complimented with project communication material, such as leaflets and stickers.
