SUNRISE-6G Showcased at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025!

SUNRISE-6G Successfully Showcased its Vision for Future 6G Experimentation at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025

The SUNRISE-6G consortium proudly participated in the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025, held from 3 to 6 June in Poznań, Poland, one of Europe’s premier events for future communication technologies.

At Booth #28, SUNRISE-6G offered a live demonstration of its Experimentation Portal, an innovative platform enabling intent-driven experimentation across a federation of 14 testbeds in 8 European countries. Attendees had the opportunity to explore how the portal facilitates advanced experimentation capabilities while promoting sustainability and standardisation in 6G research.

In addition to the exhibition, SUNRISE-6G actively contributed to two high-impact workshops:

Workshop 4: “Results and Findings from SNS B5G Large-Scale Trials and Experimentations”
Dr. Christos Verikoukis (ISI/ATHENA) presented the project’s achievements and outcomes from recent trial activities. Workshop 4 – EuCNC

Workshop 16: “6G Experimentation Methodologies, Pitfalls and Best Practices”
Dr. Kostas Ramantas (IQU) delivered a talk titled “Evaluate Intent-Driven Management of Experiments Lifecycle”, highlighting insights into experiment management using the SUNRISE-6G platform. Workshop 16 – EuCNC

SUNRISE-6G was proudly represented in:

Special Session 11 – “How to Accelerate EU Funded Research Results via Global Standards Activities,” co-hosted by ETSI and 6G-IA. The ETSI-hosted OpenOP (Open Source Operator Platform), a project-seeded initiative from SUNRISE-6G, was presented as a successful example of bridging EU research, open-source development, and global standardisation efforts. OpenOP aims to standardise telecom capability exposure across testbeds, empowering verticals and developers in a federated 6G ecosystem. Special Session 11 – EuCNC

Special Session 17: “Value Approach of 6G: The Role of Key Value Indicators in Design and Societal Impact”. The session examined how Key Value Indicators (KVIs) can inform the design of future 6G systems, aiming for greater societal relevance and sustainability. SUNRISE-6G collaborated with other SNS JU projects, including 6G-SHINE, ORIGAMI, Flecon6G and 6G-BRICKS, to discuss early approaches and challenges in applying KVIs in low-TRL environments. The discussion highlighted the critical need to align technical KPIs with broader societal values, reinforcing SUNRISE-6G’s commitment to shaping a responsible and inclusive 6G future. Special Session 17 – EuCNC

We extend our thanks to all visitors, collaborators, and fellow SNS JU projects for their engagement throughout the event.

Stay tuned as SUNRISE-6G continues to pave the way for a federated, sustainable, and standards-compliant 6G experimentation landscape.
